Washington Elementary School - May 2013 News

Washington School is ending the year with a flurry of fun activities.  We had a great turn-out for Muffins with Mom.  It was a beautiful and special morning for moms and students.  Washington celebrated the hard work of the Parent Club and showed their appreciation with a small party to honor them.  The staff is incredibly grateful for all their contributions this school year.  A big thank you to Parents Club for a fabulous Fiesta on Teacher Appreciation Day!

Open House was held on May 21st and was a success.  The students proudly showed parents all their writing and projects.  During the month of May, Kindergarten students took an exciting adventure to Hanford on Amtrak.  A highlight of the trip for some students was eating lunch on the train.  Kindergartners will be performing for their parents and presenting their families with a year-end gift on June 3rd for Parents Day.  Other year-end activities are Water Day, Family Picnic in the Park, and Kindergarten Olympics.

Washington State Preschool and VDA State Preschool are ending their year with a unit on Ocean and Sea Life.  They will be holding a promotion celebration during the last week of school and the students are excited and ready to be Washington Kindergartners next year!

Early Intervention is also ending the school year with activities focusing on Ocean and Sea Life.  Summer safety is another important focus at the end of the year.

The Washington School Staff has enjoyed watching their students grow this year!
