Washington Elementary School - April News

 WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Washington School has spent the month of April exploring and learning through the world of animals!  Kindergarten, Early Intervention, State Preschool and VDA preschool have studied farm animals, insects, and reptiles.  Many classes are also learning about seeds and planting.  Studying the life cycle of a butterfly is always a favorite activity of the students.  Washington Staff has also been busy registering students for Preschool and Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year!

Farm day was held on April 19th! The students spent the morning rotating between several fun and educational activity stations. Some of the activities included planting seeds, riding a tractor-pulled wagon, a horse presentation, a farm dog presentation, and interacting with sheep, goats, chickens, and donkeys. The students and the staff were surprised to see their Principal, Mrs. Esau, observing farm day from atop a beautiful horse! A big thank you to Ms. Goodbar and Ms. Donabedian for organizing such a special day. Also a big thank you to Ms. Sperling and her Kingsburg High Ag students who helped the children plant seeds; Mr. Johnston, Ms. Penfold, and Mr. Woods for sharing their animals, Mr. King for donating the wagon, and Mr. Bishop for driving the tractor that pulled the wagon.
