Roosevelt Elementary School Newsletter - August 2016

I am Shawn Marshall, the new Principal at Roosevelt.  I have previous experience as a Principal, Learning Director, and Teacher in a nearby district.  I am excited for the opportunity to team up with parents to educate their children.

Also new to Roosevelt is Teacher, Mrs. Laura Lutz.  You may recognize her as she was previously working in the school district at Washington School.

Rotary

Roosevelt would like to thank the Kingsburg Rotary Service Club for donating 20 children’s backpacks containing some essential school supplies.  If your child is in need of one, please ask.  Thank you, Rotary, for your generosity and service to our school!

Thank You, Teachers!

Teachers have been hard at work before the first day of school to prepare the classrooms.  They really look great!

Fundraisers

On Monday, August 22, we will begin our Magazine Sales Fundraiser.  Our fundraiser will run from August 22—Tuesday, September 6 (our last turn in day).  This is a very important fundraiser as the money raised helps defer costs for entrance and transportation fees for many of the activities that occur here at Reagan.

This year besides magazines, our families will be able to purchase gift wrapping paper and other holiday items.  Please help us with this important event.  Please also note that if you would like to donate money instead of participate in the fundraiser we would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Central Valley Home School Newsletter - August 2016

Finding a way for all of our students to learn is what drives every decision that we make as a school.  At CVHS, we know that parents are the primary teachers of their children.  We are committed to assisting parents to educate their children as they strive to get to the next level.

We will continue to provide strategies, tools, and techniques for parents through newsletters and monthly period report meetings, along with demonstrating these in our on-site classes.

Learning happens when we try something new and step out of our comfort zone.  We all have different ideas and when we share those with each other, we multiply chances for success.

Academic classes are scheduled to start during the week of September 5th.  Enrichment classes will begin Wednesday, September 14th and wrap up on October 26th.  During this 7-week session, grades K-4 will be housed at Lincoln Elementary School. Grades 508 will be utilizing the CVHS campus.

EL Summer School

The EL Summer School performance was excellent!  Thank you to Mrs. Rosales, Miss Hurtado, Miss Sembritzki, Mrs. Gutierrez, Mrs. Barkley, and Mrs. Tikkanen for all of the hard work they did with these students!  It is really appreciated!

They made a positive difference in the lives of these students!  Also, special thanks to Mrs. Barkley for donating backpacks and school shirts to all of the students!

Great job!
