Reagan Elementary School Newsletter - May 2016

6th Grade Science Camp

6th grade Science Camp is almost here!!! Beginning on May 23, group 1 of our 6th grade students will travel to Calvin Crest for their outdoor education. The students will stay until Wednesday, May 25, and then group 2 will make the same trip until Friday, May 27. This is an exciting time for our students as they will participate in hikes along different trails and learn how to incorporate leadership strategies into their everyday life.

Peter Pan, Jr.

We would like to thank Mr. Pickrell, Mrs. Cornett, and all the parent volunteers who made this year’s Drama production of Peter Pan, Jr. a success. The students did a great job and most importantly, had fun. The students worked for months learning lines and choreography until the play opened on April 8. We would like to thank Mr. Pickrell for directing the last 9 Drama productions for us at Reagan Elementary. Through the Drama Club, he has influenced and guided many Mustangs who have gone on to continue acting at Rafer Johnson Jr. High and at KHS. During the final show on Sunday, April 11, many Mustang alumni who have been in plays under the direction of Mr. Pickrell attended in order to thank him. The time and devotion he has shared with our students is something that cannot be put into words.

Sports

Track:  Our Mustang track athletes have been working hard and doing a great job as the season has continued through the first few qualifying track meets. We would like to thank coaches,
Ms. Hurtado and Mrs. Palmer, for all their hard work in getting our students ready.
