Washington Elementary School Newsletter - November 2016

S.T.A.R.

Mrs. DuPras had fun quizzing every student on the meaning of S.T.A.R., our PBIS acronym.
S-Stay Safe
T-Take Responsibility
A-Act Respectfully
R-Ready to Learn

Students who could recite all four received a S.T.A.R. bookmark and a starburst candy.

The students did a great job learning all four, and now all school staff can help them remember remember the school rules for a safe and successful learning adventure together.

SAFETY DAY

Our students learned about staying safe firsthand in October during Safety Day. Each class got to see safety vehicles, such as an ambulance, a police boat, a fire truck, and police car, and talk to the heroes who protect our community every day.

Welcome to New Staff Members

The Washington Staff is pleased to welcome two new staff members:  Mrs. Jennifer Santos, our new TK teacher, and Mrs. Kristal Johnston, our new intervention paraprofessional.

School Improvements

We are so pleased to announce two renovations to our campus.  After 20 years of not working, our clock tower is back to working properly. We love keeping our beautiful building, which was built in 1934, in good shape!

We also have a new electronic marquee in the front of the school paid for with Student Body funds. We thank the students, families, and community of Kingsburg for supporting our fund raisers so we can have even better communication.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser Results

Congratulations to the following students for selling enough Cookie Dough to participate in the Money Machine:

Rogue Miguel, Camrynn Ransom, Darren Moench, Derek Petree, Olivia Gutierrez, Colton Pipkin, Colter Thiesen, Stella Morrison, Noah Brooksher, Jake Sondergaard, Rylin Barrientos, Zoie Hofer, Isaiah Rangel, Sophie Vaquera, Reece Cano, and Joel Flaming.

Thank you to all the students and parents who participated.  The school’s share was $10,927! Those funds will go towards field trips, supplies, and events for
our students.
