Roosevelt Elementary School

Roosevelt Roughriders have worked so hard in reading this year!  Our school participated in Junior Achievement Day.  This is when employees from Guardian Glass come to teach lessons on community and economics to our first graders.  They enjoyed making maps of the community, and learning about careers.  We are always thankful to the employees who volunteer their own time to learn the lesson plan and teach our students these great social studies lessons all morning long.  It’s fun for the students to have a different teacher for the day, too.

On March 1st we celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday and our Read-A-Thon.  Thank you to everyone who made this event a huge success once again.

First graders have been learning about “states of matter” in science.  To see this process up close, we traveled to Guardian Glass.  Each class took a tour of the factory and saw how glass is made from beginning to end.  It is always nice to see how much our community members want to teach our little ones!

Looking ahead to April, Roosevelt will be preparing for Open House!
