Central Valley Home School

CVHS students are very fortunate to have so many extra-curricular opportunities.  This month, we had students attending spring enrichment classes, the Civil War Education Day at Mooney’s Grove in Visalia, and the Peach Blossom Festival at Fresno State.

At the Civil War Education Day, our students traveled back in time to the Atlanta Campaign of 1864 for a visit to a Civil War encampment.  Civil War re-enactors from the Civil War Re-enactment Society guided them through a living history lesson.  There, our students had the opportunity to select and visit six of fifteen stations.  They learned about Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, battle flags, and weapons, and spoke personally with President Lincoln.  It was a fascinating day!

The purpose of the Peach Blossom Festival is to expose children to oral interpretations and allow them to have a positive experience presenting at Fresno State.  On Friday, March 15, four Central Valley Home School students did just that!  Pierce Delport, Abby Delport, Caroline Huey, and Chloe Tabor represented CVHS at this year's Peach Blossom Festival.  The kids were very nervous but pulled off great performances and each earned SUPERIOR ratings.  Can't wait to see this program grow at CVHS next year!

Coming up next month is our Talent Show/Open House and our Organic Dairy Field Trip!
